ER Visit

Tyler decided to buy a motorcycle one summer. A few days after purchase, he crashed pretty badly and took an ambulance ride to the hospital. Tyler's wife Ashlynn received a call from one of the police officers on the scene asking which emergency room to take Tyler too. Ashlynn told them to take him to any hospital that took SelectHealth insurance and she would meet them there. Because Tyler was experiencing a level 2 trauma, the ambulance took him to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. There Tyler received the best care including a CT, overnight stay and emergency surgery. Tyler & Ashlynn had chosen a high deductible plan that year so they ended up paying their full max-out-of-pocket for the hospital & doctor bills. They also received a bill for the ambulance. Thankfully, Tyler & Ashlynn had purchased a hospital indemnity plan that help them cover some of the bills.
